+++++++++++++++ NOTICE +++++++++++++++++
A Great Big Thank You to Christina Miller, School Social Worker for the Willard School District who along
with her sccial work student, Jennifer, her boy friend, and others helped Carole have a proactive, interesting, and participatory day at the Convoy Of Hope event on Sat. September 11, 2004 in the Community Services tent! A large number of Healthy Life Changes handouts, Missouri Partnership on Smoking or Health, and
Breathe Easy Springfield, and the Greene County Health Department Community Heroes materials were
distributed. We look forward to further collaboration with Evangel College, Willard School District, Greene
County, and MPSOH in the future. To paraphrase Smokey the Bear, 'only you can prevent tobacco addiction
and air pollution' so let's work together to make it happen for more kids, parents, and adults today!

Dr. Johnson participated in a Wellness Fair, hosted by the Campbell United Methodist Church, in celebration
of mind, body, and spirit on September 11, 2004 in south Springfield. He met a number of people and
organizations wanting to collaborate on future seminars and life-changing health activities. Surprisingly
few participants seemed aware of the recent, more threatening health information regarding the effects
of second-hand smoke on the general population including all those folks and kids who do not smoke!

Please let us know if you have a community service project, church, business, or organization event focused on health and life-style awareness where information about our free quit-tobacco services and second-hand smoke would be a welcome addition.

Contact David Johnson, Ph.D., Volunteer Director,Healthy Life Changes by E: or call (417) 890-9386.

We welcome projects, health fairs, and any serious opportunities to talk about quit-tobacco needs and related services. Thank you for being a caring volunteer and referral resource. Please keep in touch. We
appreciate your participation and support.
If you have questions about quitting tobacco and/or other life change issues, email us at
with a return email (or snail mail) address. Let us know how we can help. A Healthy Life Changes volunteer will respond to email, or mail, requests with contact information, services, and resources.

Healthy Life Changes, a not-for-profit, volunteer network in southwest Missouri is dedicated to helping you and your family quit tobacco for life. Individual and group meetings are scheduled when desired by volunteers, organizations, churches, businesses, and community groups.
